Fans’ anticipation of "Avengers: Infinity War" got more intense in the last few weeks after the D23 Expo in Anaheim and Comic-Con 2017 in San Diego. There were plenty of revelations about the movie during these events, one of which was the exclusive showing of an "Infinity War" trailer that received a rousing reception among those who were lucky enough to see it.

Then, during the 2017 Comic-Con, Marvel released the latest "Infinity War" poster, which made fans scour for every detail in order to theorize what will actually happen in the movie. Until its release date in May 2018, we just have to deal with what we have in the meantime.

Who will die in 'Avengers Infinity War'?

Among the many speculations and theories that surround "Avengers 3" is who among the major characters will die given the awesome power of its villain, Thanos, as he unleashes the full force of the Infinity Stones against Earth’s mightiest heroes? A sample of the magnitude of Thanos’ power can be seen in the "Infinity War" trailer leak, which shows him hurling big chunks of stone from a planet or moon toward the Avengers.

Vision and the Mind Stone

The most logical major character who may end up dead, according to "Infinity War" fan theories, is Vision. In "Age of Ultron," Vision came into being by virtue of the Mind Stone embedded in Loki’s scepter. Since his powers and life force are connected to the Mind Stone, taking it away from him will very likely result in Vision’s death.

There is no question that Thanos, definitely, will be able to complete his Infinity Gauntlet.

'Captain America' retiring?

Fans also speculate that Captain America is another likely candidate to perish in the "Avengers Infinity War". He actually died in the comics at the end of "Civil War" so that storyline may likely find itself in the movie.

What adds fuel to the speculations is that Chris Evans gave hints in his recent interview with Esquire that he no longer may act as Captain America once his contract with Marvel is fulfilled.

'Iron Man' and the 7th Infinity Stone

"Avengers" fan theories also speculate the death of Iron Man. Why is this so? There are those who believe that the new element discovered by Tony Stark way back in "Iron Man 2," which gave his arc reactor greater power, is actually the 7th Infinity Stone.

So obviously, Thanos will want to have it and go after Iron Man -- who could die in order to prevent the Mad Titan from getting the stone. Though, I wonder if there is another slot in the Infinity Gauntlet for a seventh Infinity Stone.
