Despite being in prison, 6ix9ine released his debut album Dummy Boy. 6ix9ine is one of the hottest rappers in the game but his career has been filled with a ton of controversy as he gets into lots of feuds with other rappers and legal issues that have gotten him in the headlines as well.

The album

Originally, the album was supposed to be released on November 23 but it got pushed back due to his recent arrest. His management team stated his album would be pushed back "due to circumstances out of our control" but his management team officially released it to the public yesterday.

Over the weekend, his album was leaked on his website but his management team quickly took it off the website.

His management team announced the album on his Instagram account to his 15.5 million followers with the caption: "Dummy Boy is out now on all streaming platforms. Enjoy and share wit all ya dirty friends. This sh** all hits I promise" - management. The cover of the album features a cartoon image of 6ix9ine with him peeing rainbow urine onto the ground.

Some of the songs featured in the album are certified hits and all previously released songs on this album have made it to the Billboard Hot 100. The album features 14 songs with features on all of them except Wondo. Two of the songs, Bebe which has previously been released and made it to 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Mala are in Spanish and both feature Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA.

Some of his new songs are Mama, featuring Kanye West and Nicki Minaj, Tic Toc, featuring Lil Baby, and Waka, featuring A Boogie wit da Hoodie. Other featured artists on the album are Tory Lanez, Trife Drew, and Bobby Shmurda who is currently incarcerated.

6ix9ine is currently 10 for 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and with nine new songs on the album, he's hoping to go 19 for 19.

Current legal issue

Early in the morning on November 19, just days before his album was set to be released, he was arrested by the FBI on charges of racketeering, firearms possession, robbery, and conspiracy to commit murder. He is currently being held in a federal facility for security reasons as he was being threatened by inmates at the prison where he was previously held.

Along with 6ix9ine, his former manager Kifano "Shotti" Jordan, his bodyguard Faheem Walter and three other associates were arrested as well.

Two days before he was arrested, he revealed, in an Instagram video, that he fired his whole team after it was reported that his former manager "Shotti" stole $2.2 million from him. It was also revealed that the FBI received a tip that one of his former associates wanted to "super violate" him and kill him at which point the FBI offered to put him up in a hotel and give him 24/7 surveillance but he refused.

At his first court appearance, he requested bail and offered to turn over his passport, and offered to put up whatever was left in his bank account, about $1.7 million.

He was denied bail as the judge deemed that he would still be a threat to society even if he was released.

6ix9ine has had many previous legal issues as well. Just days before his arrest, he was sentenced to four years probation and community service for using a 13-year-old child in a sexual performance. He was also arrested for choking a 16-year-old fan back in January but those charges were dropped and he was sentenced to probation for a year for assaulting an officer.

The pre-trial for his most recent arrest will be in January 2019 with the trial set to take place in September 2019. It is expected that he will be in prison until at least the trial as he is not expected to be granted bail. If convicted on all charges, he is facing 32 years to life in prison.
